Online Evangelism

Since sharing the Gospel via the written word is Biblical it stands to reason that sharing the Gospel, the Biblical Gospel, online via Facebook, chat rooms, pinterest or good online ministries such as GMO is also biblical.  Though it’s only biblical, that is it is only God’s way if the Biblical Gospel is indeed shared.

Here are some templates that I use on GMO.  Since we can’t know for sure, regardless of what button they push, whether or not we are replying to someone that is saved I always assume that they aren’t saved.

I have two basic templates that I use.  I change the introduction to key off their keyword or comment or depending on the response, but I always transition to the Gospel.  This is similar to talking to someone on the street.  Your introduction may vary depending on if you are handing them a tract or giving them the 10 for $20 or just asking them if you can ask them a spiritual question.

$contact, I thank God for you and for you receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Hello, my name is Steve and I am here to help you get your new life with Jesus Christ off to a great start! We have many resource available for you starting with http://m.godlife.com/look-to-jesus to help you with your next steps. So whether you are ready to jump in with both feet or merely stick your toe in the water we can help you grow in your new faith.

My first goal is to help you understand your decision. In order to do that I have written out the gospel here and I would encourage you to read it all the way through, paying attention to the details and then reply back and let me know if you understand, if you disagree or if you have questions about what you have read.

The gospel starts with God and who He is. God is Holy, Just, Righteous, Living, The Creator of things, Merciful and full of Grace, not wanting that any should parish. Then the gospel moves to you and your position before this Righteous God

Would you consider yourself to be a good person?

According to scripture we are all sinners. The book of Romans says that we all fall short of the Glory of God. There is none righteous, no not one. Most people believe that they are good enough to get to heaven. This is not true.

Do you think that you have kept the Ten Commandments?

As a Just and Holy God, God condemns sin, any sin, no matter how trivial we want to make it. For instance, the bible says that you should not tell a lie. Everyone has lied. I know that I have. Have you lied? If so, you have broken one of God’s laws. The bible also says that you shall not commit murder, but then Jesus raised the bar when He said that anyone who has anger in his heart commits murder against his brother. You see, God is concerned with your heart as well as with your actions. So by committing any act against God’s law you have sinned.

If God were to judge you by the 10 Commandments, would you be innocent or guilty?

As a perfect Holy God, God must judge sin. Everyone is guilty of breaking God’s law and we must use the law to show them that they are guilty. The bibles says that there are none righteous no not one.

Do you think you would go to Heaven or Hell?

Everyone who has sinned is destined for Hell and everyone has sinned. God says that the wages of sin is death. God cannot overlook sin, just because we might think that it is trivial. God is referring to spiritual death which is Hell. Hell is a place of eternal torment, Jesus likens it to a lake of fire, whereas Heaven is where God lives and resides. Sin must be punished otherwise if God just winked at sin and looked the other way, He would be a liar. God does not lie.

Does that concern you?

We are soul (spirit), body and mind. Our soul is eternal. This world and our bodies are not eternal. You should be concerned about your eternal destiny.

So how does a Loving God deal with sin, yet allow us into Heaven to be with Him?

God does not want us to die. He loves us and He wants to have a loving relationship with us as we would have with a truly loving Father. So God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to die in our place. Jesus met all of the requirements to atone for our sins. He was born of a virgin, so He did not have our sin nature. He lead a sinless life, so He owed no penalty for death. Jesus is all God so He was powerful enough to take all of our sins and rise from the dead. Jesus was sacrificed… He took God’s wrath upon Himself so that whoever called upon His name might be saved. Jesus’ sacrifice was final and complete and He took our sin upon Himself. That is why Jesus is the only way to Heaven.

Three days later after dying on the cross, Jesus was resurrected. He rose from the grave. In His death He atoned for (He took away) our sin. In His Resurrection Jesus proved that He was God and showed us that He can deliver on the promise of everlasting life.

Repent from your sins and Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Repent means to confess and forsake your sins

And

Believe and Trust in Jesus as Lord. Trust in Jesus for your salvation. This is faith in Jesus Christ.

Romans 10: 9-10

That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Jesus answered, I am the way, the truth and life. No one comes to the Father but by me. In John 1 it says that the Word was from the beginning and that Jesus is the Word. Read you bible and share the truth of God’s salvation with others.

Seyyed, thank you for visiting out website.  It is such a blessing to know that you want to serve God with all of your heart.  Hello, my name is Steve and I am here to help you do just that.

I am going to equip you to serve the Lord by doing something that is very important to Him, sharing the wonderful gospel of Jesus Christ with everybody and anybody that you come into contact with (yes, I’m still working on the everybody part).

How much do you love those around you?  Do you love them enough to tell them the truth?  A few years ago I was very frightened to share Jesus, but I prayed and I prayed and God slowly started to change my heart and gave me the courage to step out and step up and I began to share the truth of His love in truth and in love, which meant that I also had to share the truth of His Holiness and Justness.  But I found out a way to do both in love and I would like to share that with you.

This can be scary; I know that it was for me.  You can start by praying as commanded in Matthew 9: 37-38 and God will begin to change your heart and give you courage and open doors to give you ways to share with others.
Matthew 9:37-38 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Then learn and understand how to present the gospel biblically the way Jesus did.  According to Galatians 3: 24 and Psalms 19:7, “The law is our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith” and “the law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul…”

Here is how you can use the law of God (the ten commandments) to share God’s free gift of salvation:

In order to declare the gospel you can remember these two mnemonics:
WDJD = What Did Jesus Do = Would, Do, Judgment, Destiny
CCRAFT = Concern, Cross, Repentance and Faith, Truth

W Would             Would you consider yourself to be a good person?
D Do                   Do you think that you have kept the ten commandments
J Judgment         If God were to Judge you based on the Ten Commandments would you be innocent or guilty?
D Destiny             Do you think you would go to Heaven or Hell (eternal destiny)?

C Concern           Does that concern you? (that you are going to hell)
C Cross               Jesus suffered for our sins on the cross.  He died and rose from the dead
R Repentance     Confess to God and forsake all sins (Repent)
And
F Faith                   More than belief it is trust in Jesus for Salvation
T Truth                  Point them to the truth of the bible and encourage them to get right with God today.

Here is WDJD and CCRAFT in more detail:
W   Would you consider yourself to be a good person?
According to scripture we are all sinners. The book of Romans says that we all fall short of the Glory of God. There is none righteous, no not one. Most people believe that they are good enough to get to heaven.  This is not true.

D  Do you think that you have kept the Ten Commandments?
As a Just and Holy God, God condemns sin, any sin, no matter how trivial we want to make it. For instance, the bible says that you should not tell a lie. Everyone has lied. I know that I have. Have you lied? If so, you have broken one of God’s laws. The bible also says that you shall not commit murder, but then Jesus raised the bar when He said that anyone who has anger in his heart commits murder against his brother. You see, God is concerned with your heart as well as with your actions. So by committing any act against God’s law you have sinned.

J  If God were to judge you by the 10 Commandments, would you be innocent or guilty?
As a perfect Holy God, God must judge sin.  Everyone is guilty of breaking God’s law and we must use the law to show them that they are guilty.  The bibles says that there are none righteous no not one.

D Destiny – Do you think you would go to Heaven or Hell?
Everyone who has sinned is destined for Hell.  God says that the wages of sin is death. God cannot overlook sin, just because we might think that it is trivial. God is referring to spiritual death which is Hell. Hell is is a place of eternal torment, Jesus likens it to a lake of fire, whereas Heaven is where God lives and resides.  Sin must be punished otherwise if God just winked at sin and looked the other way, He would be a liar. God does not lie.  Racheal, talking about Hell can be difficult but we do it out of love, we speak truth in love.

C Does that concern you?
This question is a great transition to the cross and you can also use it to show your concern for their eternal destiny.  You see, we are soul (spirit), body and mind. Our soul is eternal. This world and our bodies are not eternal. You should be concerned about your eternal destiny.  Again we are speaking the truth in love.

C Cross

R Repentance
Repent from your sins and Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Repent means to confess and forsake your sins

A And
Both Repentance and Faith are required for salvation
Romans 10: 9-10
That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

F Faith
More than belief, it’s trust in Jesus for salvation.

T Truth
Jesus answered, I am the way, the truth and life.  No one comes to the Father but by me.  In John 1 it says that the Word was from the beginning and that Jesus is the Word.  Point to the truth of the bible and encourage them to get right with God today.

Seyyed, sharing your faith in Christ is a very important part of your walk with God.  To learn more about how to share please visit www.livingwaters.com and listen to Hell’s Best Kept Secret and True and False Conversions.  This lecture teaches us to ask people if they think they are good enough to get to heaven, then we ask them if we can ask them some questions to see if that is true.  This is a very easy and inoffensive way to bring the law and the gospel to the world.

Start serving in this area by praying and learning.  Pray for Jesus to give you boldness and learn how to share the gospel.  Then find friend and practice sharing with her.  You can also do this in the mirror, just talking to yourself.  This helps build confidence.

Please reply and let me know how you are doing in this area of service and if you have question for I am sure that you will have a lot of questions.
